Rough draft
by: Matthew Dillon
The music industry has been around for more than a century and the back bone of it is audio production.
Three of the most important steps are creating the music, recording, and the output. Creating the music or any audio in audio in audio production is essential. It goes without saying that if a painter doesn't have paint, then he cant paint. Its basically the same in audio production where if theres nothing to record then you cant do your job. Recording is a very technical progress in audio production because the different settings on the mixers that you might be using, the sensitive microphones that they use, and the way of putting everything together to make something new. The last step is the output which can be DVD, CD, MP3 or WAVE. To first start recording you have to create the audio first.
To start first start creating your song or audio its good to know you instrument. One might be a electric guitar and how the electric guitar came to be is by jazz guitarist would take hollow bodied acoustic instruments and put steel pickups made by Rickenbacker company in 1931. They would do this to get a louder sound. The first solid-body guitars were invented by Les Paul while the first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar was the Fender Esquire in the 1950's. Then to give your electric guitar sound you would use a guitar amplifier. What that was is a electronic amplifier designed to make the signal of an electric or acoustic guitar louder so that it will produce sound through a loudspeaker and modify the tone by emphasizing or de-emphasizing curtain frequencies and adding electronic effects. From there its just a matter of learning both of these things well enough where you can incorporate scales and notes to create music. Now that you've created your audio its time to record.
When you start recording theres a lot of things you have to take in consideration like the recording microphones. One of the best recording microphones is the SE Electronic USB1000a USB Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphone. The reason why this is one of best is because of its half inch capsule, this USB only microphone offers unprecedented recording quality in its price range due to the proprietary chip and software set, developed by SE, which deals with both noise and software drivers. an other important piece of equipment is the audio mixer. Some of the applications that an audio mixer can do is combine multiple audio sources, adjust tone, and volume and interface between a wide variety of inputs and outputs. After you have recorded your audio track the next step is to create the output.
To be able to then distribute your recorded audio it needs to be in a format that you can listen to on either a computer, CD player, or ipod. The most common of the output formats is the MP3. The MP3 is a computer file created with compression technology commonly used to make digital audio relatively small while maintaining high audio quality.
This showed a general knowledge of how audio production works. Creating the music takes the right instruments and amplifiers. For recording you will need high tech microphones, and audio mixers. The output will very on what your doing but most commonly you would use MP3 if its music relative.
